Great stand for DremelAug 27, 2010

Great stand. I use it fully extended and clamped to the right end of my workbench as I am right handed. I hang loose end of flex shaft on peg board on back of bench. My workbench is 4' long and this setup allows me to reach the 4" vise on the left side of bench. With this application the stand could not be any longer. I also used holes in base to screw into bench top for more support.

Not bad, but shortJul 29, 2010

The telescoping pole that holds the drill is only three short sections. The clamp is beefy and the pole seems as if it could take the weight if even higher so I'm not sure why the manufacturer didn't go one more length - if they had actually hung the Dremel from it with the flex shaft in place they would have immediately seen the problem. It is usable and the awkwardness of the length can be worked around. I've kept it and am using once in a while. It would be really annoying if I had to use it everyday.
Review of Amazon Rotary Tool HolderSep 28, 2011
By Helen M. Scovel I thought it would go higher. I needed it to hold a Dremel with a Flex Shaft and it was not high enough. It is fine to simply hang something on, but not high enough to keep the shaft fairly straight so it works. I don't remember reading the height to which it could be adjusted, just figured it would go high enough since it was advertised as a rotary hanger and lots of people use Flex Shafts. Since it doesn't work for hanging the Dremel with a Flex Shaft attached and I was too lazy to send it back, I kept it to hang something else on in my work area.
flimsySep 03, 2011
By Holly Bennett If I could have given zero stars, I would have. This thing is so flimsy, I can't imagine it holding anything over a pound, much less a flex shaft motor. I have a Foredom flex shaft; I'm guessing the motor weighs around 5 lbs (total guess), and this table clamp bowed under the weight. There is no way that I could have ever used the flex shaft while attached to this holder as the normal "pulling" would have surely either caused my shaft motor to tumble to the floor or the clamp would have snapped. The "base" is made of plastic and I fully expect it would have cracked in a short matter of time. Probably good for holding helium balloons. Spend about $10 more and get a quality clip on from Rio Grande. Wish I had found them first.

The hanger works great, and the price was right. It offers good support for my dremel when using the flex shaft.
