Pretty goodJan 03, 2012

The tool is smaller than what I imagined. It does not come with instructions but with a little finagling I figured it out. I mounted mine on a small block of wood so that I could clamp it to my work station and put it away when I wasn't using it. On one end is a large hole and the other a holding type piece. There is a wing nut in the middle so you can swivel the tool around. The 5 pieces that come with it are the pieces you wrap your wire around. 1st choose the size piece you would like to use. Then, on the side with the hole, unscrew the screw just enough to fit the piece, then tight the screw onto the piece. If you are looking directly at the hole you will see a little flap with 3 tiny holes in it (bottom left). This is to hold the wire so that it does not spin while you tightly wined the wire around the piece/mandrel. Place the tip of the wire into one of the 3 holes, tightly wined the wire around the mandrel. Remove the mandrel. Swivel the tool around. Place the mandrel into the holder with the slot side up. Line up the slots on the mandrel with the slots on the holder then push the mandrel into the holder. Grab your jewelers saw with a fine blade, place two of your fingers strongly around the metal (from the bottom) one on each side with the slot still exposed. Start to saw gently. Practice a bit and get your groove on how it works best for you.
Hope this helps.

Where are the instructions?Sep 23, 2011
By Shawn I was excited to get this tool as I am a jewelry designer and make a ton of jumprings. But....Where are the instructions? There were no pictures, no written instructions and no help on the website. I think I'll buy the more expensive one next time as this was a complete waste!

No instructionsNov 13, 2011

It would have been nice to receive instructions on how to work this tool. As it is, it sits on my workbench, never been used. I wouldn't have wasted my money.
