I have been working with this same knotting tool for over a year now. I bought the Bead Cord knotter tool at the suggestion of a jeweler friend, who was helping me earn extra money. At the time that I purchased it, I had no prior experience with stringing, beading or knotting. I learned gradually solely by using the included instruction book.
I was nervous handling other people's pearls at first, so those first three necklace strands were rejected by the jeweler as not professional enough, and he took the jobs over and redid them himself. But he gave me more work, and with a little more persistence, I got the hang of it. The frequency of beading and pearl restringing work varies, but I have been knotting about 2 strands per week. Most are 18 inches in length, but I have restrung strands as long as 40 inches with tight, consistent knots using this tool.
This knotter is sturdy and durable, I have no complaint with it. I believe it's the best tool for the job. I am very glad that I took the jeweler's advice by not purchasing a less expensive plastic model, as this wood-handled tool is serving me very well.

I don't have much experience with beading but needed to restring my mom's pearl necklace. I live in a rural community and didn't find anyone local who could do it so I got this tool, watched some youtube videos on using it, practiced a bit on some beads and voilá, my necklace is back in action. I would advise anyone doing this for the first time not to glue the silk initially as the instructions say because if you make a mistake and have to start again with a new piece of silk thread the pearl is literally part of the silk thread. I now have two less pearls on my necklace. Lesson learned and I have a scrawny neck so all was not lost.
The Bead Cord Knotting Tool was fantastic and easy to use. The knots are barely visible and tight to the pearls. I chose this tool over others that didn't have the spring loaded push and I was glad, it seemed intuitive and I had less fumbling to contend with.

This tool is mildly helpful with knotting while stringing pearls, but not as helpful as I had hoped. The metal will cut #1 silk beading cord, which is very disconcerting because then one is left with starting over AND having to cut out every knot. Also, having somewhat small hands, I found it awkward and after a while, somewhat painful to push the lever up. It was not possible for me to knot without putting the tool down in between knots because of the way I had to grasp it in order to push the lever up. All in all, it made knotting marginally faster than just using a straight pin or hat pin.

ARRIVED VERY QUICKLEY...I HAVEN'T HAD A CHANCE TO USE IT YET, BUT I AM SURE IT WILL DO JUST WHAT IT SAYS IT WILL AS LONG AS I CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO USE IT...LOL...
