Nice & SturdyNov 13, 2009

This plastic magnifier feels good in my large hand. It's made of plastic and feels quite stout, not flimsy at all. 2x is fine for everyday use although you might need a bigger diameter lens for reading. The light colored plastic frame allows available light in, unlike the black metal/plastic bands which block all the side lighting. The 6x 'mini-spot' as I call it is quite adequate but small in diameter (3/4"). For looking at small parts and lettering in my shop this magnifier is quite the bargain. I'm also fine with the plastic construction. Since the shop floor is concrete - any glassware is a no-no. I won't have to worry about the glass shattering on the floor and causing a massive arterial bleed.
