This is really a handy item to have. I wanted to be able to adjust my watch links, along with changing batteries. This enables me to see what I'm doing. The base is very heavy which helps when you want to adjust the magnifier to whatever position you might need. All in all, a great purchase!

cleaning out my wish list and realized this is the magnifier I bought at a local craft store last week for about $12. Very glad I did not pay $40. Using it for beading and other small jewelry work. I'm 44 and just started having the near vision issue, so this helps, it's portable, no light source, but most of the time don't need it. The base is heavy enough that it stays put pretty well, but you do have to balance the magnifer and arm over it so it doesn't topple. Still reasonable flexibility. All metal and glass, which I like, but I think the current price here is too high.

the glass is perfect and will adjust by moving and positioning ... the weighted base is super fine ...in all, this was a great purchase to handle all those tedious moments when you want your hands free to highlight an object under magnification ...very pleased.
