5Watch band spring bar removersJun 05, 2010

Both of these are high-quality metal items. Why two? They address different size watch spring bars. The black one is for larger type watches while the silver-toned one is for delicate spring bars like those found on a woman's watch.

The pointed side depresses the spring tips through case holes provided in some watches while the yoke end is used to grip the spring bar collars (usually two levels per side) for case holder removal and/or re-insertions without pass-through holes. Remember to use the correct millimeter (mm) spring bars to go through the band and into the case holders. These are measurable or matchable with a mm assortment supply and the old or broken watch spring bars in question.

Removing watch spring bars is not magic. It just takes the right-sized tools, a little magnification, and patience. The latter is not one of my strongest attributes. Nonetheless, if I can perform this routine watch band job, most people can tackle it successfully too. Such do-it-yourself skill is also the key to obtaining a much wider selection of high-quality leather bands to suit your style. Way leads on to yet another better way here.
