5Great price on a long lasting button cellSep 22, 2009
By HMMWV "God, Country, Corps"
The 389/390 series of cells differ only in chemistry. Today, combined products are offered to save on model numbers. I believe the 390 is the silver oxide chemistry while the 389 is an alkaline battery with the same dimentions. It, however, will die 10 times faster than the 390.

I verified these cells are silver-oxide - about the longest lasting formulation you can find. They are nominally 1.55 volts as a result but this batch tested 1.62 volts.

The application for the silver oxide chemistry is small circiuts that need to run for a long time with a stable voltage. Silver oxide will maintain 1.55 volts until dead, at 1.0 volts. I purchased these to replace the LOC8TOR Plus Pack brickhouse locator tabs which had been running for 2 years on the factory 390 cells.

Buying in the 10 pack certainly gets the cost down. My local watch shop charges the same for 10 of these for a single cell.

If your device uses the 389 or 390 cell, this will be the longest lasting option for you.

5Batteries are a good dealNov 19, 2010
By tire time
The batteries arrived quickly (Nov. 2010) and are functioning. The packaging back states copyright 2004, which implies these are old batteries, but they are not. There is a 2-letter code on the back "ZC." I contacted Energizer directly at the number in Kent's posting and Customer Service told me "ZC" means they were made in May 2010. They also told me they have a shelf life of up to 10 years and to NOT store them in a damp area such as the freezer or refrigerator. However, Energizer's own technical bulletin on their site gives a varying shelf life and power retained depending on the temperature they are stored at. Shelf life of 10 years is for storage at 32 degrees F (0C) and power retention will be 93% at the 10 year mark. 7 years is when stored at 68 degrees F (20C) and power retention is 86%. 4 years is when stored at 104 degrees F (40C) and power retention is 70%.

2Depends on UseJan 26, 2012

These batteries are probably fine for watches or other low-drain applications. However, they are not a suitable replacement for high-drain applications, anything requiring short bursts of power. I downgraded them because the image advertised here labels them "multi-drain," whatever that means. The batteries that were sent are clearly labeled "low drain." Silver oxide batteries are not a good replacement for alkaline batteries.

5Keeping the magnifying glass goingDec 15, 2011
By Mammer and/or Papper to 4
I often use a magnifying glass because my eyes don't see as well as they used to, and magnification helps. I had purchsed these batteries from Amazon before and returned to Amazon again when I needed a new supply. Although the product was actually coming from another company, handling the purchase on behalf of Amazon, the product was a known to me so I wasn't worried about what I had bought. I received the package withing aone or two days, and they;re still doing the same great job as previously. Do not hesitate buying these batteries from Amazon.

510 pk energizer 390/389 batteriesSep 22, 2010
By chris
Bought these batteries for Swatch watch battery replacements. Drug stores charge $4 (or more) for one cell and this 10 pack was a good deal. Package does not list an expiration date, so I hope they are not expired or close to expiring, but I am using some batteries and the watches are working just fine.
